Mystic Order of The Blokes of the Haworth Tavern

A recent look through the History books uncovered an ancient and secretive organisation – similar to the Freemasons – which is linked to the origins of the Blokes Guild. The society named ‘The Mystic Order of the Blokes of the Haworth Tavern’ is currently undergoing a revival in the area and recruiting members regardless of sex, race or faith and is keen to shrug off negative press associated with similar groups.

“As a secret society we often face criticism that we want to undermine religion and topple governments… we do that occasionally, but in fact what we really want to do is party and get drunk” said J Grovedale – local founder member.

The groups ‘Grand Temple’ is the Haworth Arms on Beverley Road and members can usually be found drinking and greeting each other with secret hand-shakes, which closely resemble high-5’s.

For all you budding members, initiation is strict and involves being recommended by at least 2 current members and downing random shots of Jaegermeister or absinthe. Anybody interested in joining should head on over to the Haworth and join the fun. New members will receive a badge an assortment of penny sweets and lost bible scriptures.
